It struck me that: "WSMC cranks out 8,000 to 10,000 wafers per month and is ramping up at a rate of more than 2,000 additional wafers per month. Chang said the company can make signal products down to 0.2 micron, logic and SRAM devices to 0.25 micron and DRAM to 0.21 micron." That limit of production capability at the .2 level is striking to me. We are rapidly moving to .18 micron (and below), and not all companies are going to have that capacity (like LSI) to do the narrower linewidths. Do you see some MUCH better gross margins in that?!
