Mohan....I was telling the fellas at work who own DELL that this Niles character will be known after the Earnings Announcement today as either a DORK or a GENIUS...

After giving it some thought I don't think he is either....I think he was TIPPED OFF by insiders...There is no way he could have done such a revision on his final objectives in the final hours, unless he were tipped off during DELL's "Quiet Period".

I DO believe (with a 100% certainty) DELL purposely leaked to Niles so DELL shares wouldn't be in the neighborhood of $115 or so when they released Q4 numbers.....Can you imagine the gap down and subsequent bloodbath the day after Earnings had DELL been above $100?

I don't believe this is normally DELL's style...I think they are a more "Be Direct" management, but in this case I think the numbers began to get crunched a little late into the Quiet Period and this was their only way to "Warn" the shareholders and be as "Gentle" as possible...

Niles took the heat for DELL...DELL did us all a favor...Niles is neither a DORK OR GENIUS, just a "mouthpiece" this time.

This whole thing does show us though that even DELL can be caught off guard and not be able to "warn" in a timely manner.

What do you think?

Regards, George
