CLASSY: "I am troubled that my rosy outlook may have unduly influenced others and I hope for their forgiveness." Uncle Frank, such humility is a fine example ... for me!

I said Dell won't dip, will have blowout earnings report, and be 135 by early March. Every word we say influences others to an extent, and I'm responsible for my statements. I fear I've injured some, and deeply regret it. The first stock prediction I've made on the thread, couldn't have been worse. Henceforth I'll stick to things I know more about than forecasting stock prices.

Thank you for showing the way, Uncle Frank!

OTOH, Dell performed brilliantly. Against the supergiants of technology our young genius seized the day, and my hat is off to him. Anyone who calls Michael's incredible performance less than fantastic just doesn't understand business, and surely has never run a manufacturing company. [I have] What words describe a win rate of 50-60% competing for major contracts? In business school who would believe such an example if postulated?

The market will decide the valu of Dell stock near term, but Dell's achievement in setting THE Paradigm for manufacturing, financial management and customer satisfaction is unsullied. All this in the midst of duplicating infrastructure.

And to those who throng to this thread to jeer and hoot and rub salt in the heavy wounds some have taken today, I ask in the name of kindness: What gain you by reviling the injured with gross taunts? Is this the measure of your character? SHAME!
