Bell South just announced to team up with 3COM to offer ADSL.
My feeling is that a pie is divided by @Home and the rest of the RBOCs. @Home takes at least 50% of the broadband pie. RBOCs take the remaining 50%. However, there are several RBOCs, Bell Atlantic, Bell South, SBC, US West and etc. They are all fighting the
non-cable portion. But none of them can touch the cable portion. These RBOCs will compete with each other and exhaust their energy
and resources. But @Home is a much better position due to its near monopoly stance. While RBOCs fight with each other for a smaller pie, and exhaust themselves, @Home will grow steadily to success.
The only way for RBOCs to beat T/ATHM is to partner among themselves and partner with a stronger content provider like AOL.
But I don't see that is happening. So far AOL only established a partnership with Bell Atlantic. On the ADSL front, it's a mess with no strength.

Tonight King country just approved the transfer of licence to T. A great news for T and ATHM. The fundamental keeps looking better.
All others are noise, such as the DELL scare.
