Dragonfly, look at the PLFM thread. They have a concept for using
planes for celluar phone coverage. Lots cheaper than using satellites.
To me it looks like Metricom could use a similar approach for
Ricochet coverage. What are your feelings about this? I can see that
launching satellites would be far too expensive. But the use of
planes with a relay system seems feasible.
