I was focusing on this paragraph
Gibert hears the message. "She's right. We have trained every clerk in the country over the past three years. For some of them, it was the first training they had in 20 years. But we don't have the information infrastructure systems in place. We don't have product development and we don't have better communications in place everywhere. All that is coming. We plan to replace the IRTs with a state-of-the-art retail point-of-service system that will give clerks the information they need and help managers monitor inventory and sales."
because at computercpa.com it states
Electronic Money Order Dispenser (EMOD) The USPS will initially deploy 175 standalone EMOD units. The units, costing US$1,000 each, include a computer terminal, a printer for the money orders, and a second receipt printer. The USPA asked Electronic Clearing House to integrate special features into the system, including accounting and inventory software to count sales of stamps, boxes, envelopes, and other items the Postal Service sells.
ECHO has already developed this POS service for Uhaul. Their system prints contracts, approves credit transactions, tracks inventory, and prints inventory reports at a centralized location. The similarities are worth mentioning in my opinion. |
