I didn't get caught in Dell either, but I also sold so early that I missed most of the big run up. I hate sluggish low volume declining markets like this one. Give me a good short lived crash anytime over this chinese water torture market, which gives so few clues about investor sentiment. Of the known gorillas, MSFT probably has the best opportunities, as well as the biggest risk. At this stage I can't figure out exactly what the market expects from the trial. There are so many possible outcomes that it seems unlikely that the market has figured it out, especially since it is hidden in the mind of one man (the judge). IMHO, anything up to and including a breakup into no more than 2 parts wouldn't wound MSFT that much.
I don't know if you consider SAP a gorilla ( it certainly used to be one) but it is showing considerable resistance to declining much below 29, and if it starts to show some good relative strength might be a buy. Other than that it's hard to pick a gorilla to buy at today's prices.
