Michael, frankly, I don't see a need anymore for DELL to use AMD. AMD's new pricing on K6-2 essentially matches the new Celeraon pricing. No more 25% undercutting. And with Celeron now in a socket as well as a slot at all speeds, the infrastructure cost (motherboard) is no higher. I wouldn't anticipate a move by DELL to AMD. The K6-3 has little hope of providing any meaningful performance gain, and given its significantly larger die size, AMD will be reluctant to push this into the end. It will try (and likely fail) to position it against P3.

Also, sub $1000 may now provide quite fertile ground for DELL. Perhaps down to the $800 mark. Remember, this segment is now really 3 segments, sub $1K, sub $800 and sub $600 (all including monitor).
