What I think is of no concern. However, it certainly would have made a difference to the country as a whole. Was there even a woman or a non-lawyer among the House managers?

One thing that struck me watching the House impeachment proceedings was how the right side of the aisle represented the diversity of America, while the left side of the aisle represented the diversity of suburbia.

The "Contract with America" was a brilliant idea. It swept the GOP into control of the House. But the Republicans have always had problems following up brilliant ideas with good ones. One stellar example of where they dropped the ball badly last year was in not agreeing to work with the Dems on HMO reform/patients' bill of rights. This is an issue that strikes at every family in America, Democrat or Republican. In the end, the only winners were the fat cats in business suits espousing shareholder equity.
