betty,

The trading of this stock has never made any sense. A retest of the 52 week low may just be what we need for a final shake out of the non believers. I believe the trading over the past 7 days has been mostly market maker induced. There has been no buying and no short covering so they just slowly keep dropping down the bid to test to see exactly at what point Vivus has solid support. When they feel that this support level is reached there will be only one thing left to do to make money which is to cover their 6 million shares held short.

I guess you have to ask yourself exactly how much has changed between now and last September when we were trading at today's levels and ask yourself if things look better or worse than 5 months ago. If anything although I still strongly think that Wilson MUST GO, I feel that Vivus' future is less uncertain now than it was 5 months ago. We see now that they have been able to get costs in line with revenues to show at least a small profit and not burn through the cash. Before the shorts were all instilling a fear of Chapter 11 which is far from the real situation. Andreas buys into Vivus as if he didn't expect a drop in revenues as a domestic partner has still not be found and no major European countries have yet been launched other than England.

If I had the cash I would certainly be a buyer at these levels as I feel that Vivus' future looking forward 3 to 6 months is very positive. I believe we will have a domestic partner by the very latest some time in the first half of this year and I would hope that our loser of a CEO could maybe get lucky and sign a deal tomorrow. European sales will be strong as soon as the major European markets are launched by Astra which should occur in about one or two months. In the mean time we can just sit and watch the mms f@#%*ck with the stock price as they please. I wonder if Vivus management is smart enough to be repurchasing at least some stock at these levels?
