I doubt that - since Intel is buying these by the TENS of MILLIONS !

And if it were true, it would still be a factor of 2X in Intel's favor since Pentium II/III uses only 512K of L2 cache but the Sharpy Eye chip requires 2 Meg L3 cache (= 4 x 512K) to be competitive.
