I turned a quick buck today on an option, which is a great way to avoid boredom. I picked up 10 hwpno (hwp February 75 put) contracts on Friday at 2 5/16, and sold today at 6 5/8. It's the first time I've bet on the "down" side of the board. This exciting little play kept me from messing with my core holdings.

Good trade. Unfortunately in Canada the retirement accounts only allow calls --no puts. I do very little put buying as I can only in do it my margin account.

I had all the excitement i could handle with a lot of purchases of April calls on MSFT. I am betting that volatility will increase as we hit mid to late March and hope to make it big. I put in 4 buy orders in the last hour with different stock prices but got fills on only 3---did not bid high enough for the April 165s.

It feels like we are in October again. The next 2 weeks are going to be very volatile. A lot of the experts have predicted doom and gloom. I wonder if the average investor is even listening.
