After I hit the respond button, SI took about 30 seconds to bring the window up. Would a 20% faster CPU make any difference?

CPUs run much faster than almost everything else in our world. Very few people have their productivity limited by a lack of CPU speed. And most of those people work on Unix workstations.

And yes, if you want better graphics performance, buy a better graphics processor. Why would any sensible person spend lots of money on a general purpose processor, if they are looking for better graphics processing power?

Anyway, the graphics processor on MXi will have excellent performance. Why do you think Intel decided to take a 6 month hit on Whitney and integrate Portola?
