I've never seen "Alcoholic Pride", or "John Pride" Marches.

I am troubled by groups whose identity is so wrapped up in their sexuality--who choose to define themselves so inordinately by their particular sexual practices. It seems like such an absurd reduction of one's humanity to do so.

I just can't imagine defining myself in terms of where I put my penis, and in the most simple terms, I think this is the foundation of "Gay Pride". In my mind it is a neurotic obsession--one that makes me uncomfortable watching it being promoted--much as watching a group of alcoholics stumbling down the street, or a pack of horny johns in a "Pride" march would.

I certainly wouldn't challenge their right to promote their lifestyle, it is constitutionally guaranteed, but for the life of me I just don't get it.
