Interesting you should guess that Komag might now (re WDC) need to work more closely with IBM. Last quarter, IBM dropped from being 25% of Komag sales down to 13%.

For a point of reference, WD was 51% of Komag's last quarter sales while they were 19% at HMT. Last quarter Komag sales: $92.7 mln and HMT: $69.8 mln. That works out to WD being worth $47.3 mln in sales at Komag and $13.3 mln at HMT.

This turn of events makes it all the more important for HMT to announce (soon) that they will be one of the successful (and hopefully primary) media vendors to Conner Technology.
