Craig Barrett (CEO INTC) was just interviewed on CNBC. He says that throughout the rest of 1999, Intel will introduce faster versions of the PIII so that by late 1999 or early 2000, the 500Mhz/550Mhz PIII will be priced low enough to be in "family" PCs.

IMO, those family PCs will have Rambus memory inside (there won't be any alternatives). So that's one view of the roadmap -- Rambus in family PCs starting late 1999 or early 2000.
