Control It's a pathological obsession. They don't have control
of JAVA, neither will they ever, as more seems to be the case.

Of course. The same reason Sun won't let go of control of Java. Sun controls it, and they want it to stay that way.

It's a pity Gates et al are more interested in control than putting out a real, competitive, a little-better-than-half-hearted-effort in making a so-called the-consumer-wanted-it-this-way products.

Gates et al are interested in products that make money. Same as Sun, Apple, Oracle, IBM and every other company.
