Trader J: I have a couple questions on splits? I bought QLGC at 130 last week waiting for the Feb. 22 "2-1 split". 1. Do the MM's drop the price of a stock to 50% from the previous days close,(2-1 split) the day of the split? If so, is this automatic in each case? Is the price drop due to a sell off or to regulations that on a 2 for 1 split there must be a 50% drop? 2. Is there a strategy for making money in splits? 3.
