Listening to Niles & Kumar- Hey it wasn't all that bad, actually quite good.

Comments from Niles & Kumar on Dell (Vcall/Radio Wall Street).

I just listened to both of these guys on Vcall and I think their comments on Dell weren't as bad as I thought it would be, actually they were both quite upbeat on the future of DELL.

Here are couple of quote I picked up.

Niles- "Dell is the epitomy of efficiency,no other company comes close".

Kumar-"Dell's balance sheet is in pristine condition, bar none.
(Cash conversion cycle at negative 12 days, cash flow in superb condition etc etc)".

Sure they were pretty hard on Dell's 'soft' sales in Q4 but they still couldn't come up with a better run company. Also they talked about increased competition from the others but then this is not something that is new found.I think the revenue shortfall in Q4 has more to do with Dell themselves than the competition.Let's face it they 'blinked' a bit in Q4 with respect to revenue and they admitted as much and that is all there is to it even though the Meisters are trying to spin various doomsday theories.

When asked about the prospects of Dell's additional foray into E-Commerce Niles thought that it was a natural progression for Dell and should be expected as they were the best positioned to leverage this asset they already have in this area. I believe March should be quite
an exciting time for Dell and its shareholders in this regard.

Both of them said going forward the future of DELL is quite bright (in spite of the debate about valuation and such) as they are still the undisputed leader in what they do and that nobody even came close.

Niles also said that he believed the stock has been slapped around enough for the last couple of days and might have found the bottom thereby taking care of the valuation issue. So I interpret this as a sign of better things to come as far as the stock price goes,it could trade sideways for a bit before doing the wild-thing.

So don't listen to the doom and gloom purveyors listen to the company and the people in the know and watch things unfold as we go along. The stock may act erratic in the short term but that has nothing to do with the future of this company and that is what I am thinking.

You know it is quite hard to find a better run company if you ask me but people should do what is best for them sell/buy/short/stay on the sideline and watch and what not,as nobody said owning high-flying technology stock is fun but the good ones have always proven to be quite profitable if one has the guts and the patience to weather the short term violent gyrations.

Just some ramblings from here is all.

For those late comers who wants to listen to Niles/Kumar go here.
