Tenchusatsu, let me try again. If 8" wafers cost ~$1,500 and Intel sells PIIIs for >$750 then it only takes two CPU sales to pay for the the entire wafer. With >30,000 mm2 on a wafer, that leaves a lot of "free" chips to package and sell for a profit.
