<<The party identified as Jeff Mills is of course entirely wrong.>>

Your friend must be losing alot of money in ELY to view my information as "entirely wrong".

<<Callaway routinely destroys marginally defective stock>>

Problem is, there is nothing wrong with the $30 MM of inventory they are thinking about destroying. Well--I guess one thing is wrong, no one wants it!

<<Since Callaway produced over $600 million dollars of product last year, it could easily destroy $30 million dollars of inventory without anyone noticing.>>

Wrong! That would be like saying DELL sold $20 Billion in PCs last year but now has $1 Billion built up in stale inventory--which they must DESTROY because they cannot sell it. People will notice!

<<Ely Callaway, one of the premier entrepreneurs in sport industry, just would not do it>>

Do you know Ely personally?

<<Selling it off by a retailer at $9 above wholesale still keeps them over $100-150 dollars. While a "great buy" to a golfer, it is certainly not a giveaway price.>>

Do you have a Callaway account? Do you even know what Great Big Bertha's wholesale for? What have you been paying for Biggest Big Bertha's from Callaway? When I say $9 above WHOLESALE that's what it is!

<<Speaking of which, these tremendous profit margins are why the prestige brands never drop their prices.>>

Where were you when ELY dropped prices on GBB's and BBB's about 6 months ago by $50 per stick?

<<Edwin Watts is also known for selling off two to four year old gear at huge discounts.>>

This is not old gear we are talking about. We are talking about GBB's and BBB's--Callaway's bread and butter for the past 2 years.

Be careful--you may like ELY better at $6 than you do at $10. Let me know how you are buying GBBs and BBBs at $100 to $150--I would be very interested to know. I am sure Callaway would be as well.

IMO,
Jeff
