Reverse circulation drilling to begin on Amapola claim group Aurado Exploration Ltd AEO Shares issued 41,308,610 Feb 16 close $0.06 Wed 17 Feb 99 News Release Also Cominco Ltd (CLT) Mr. William Dickie reports Cominco Mexico de C. V., a wholly owned subsidiary of Cominco Ltd. will conduct a reverse circulation drilling program on the Amapola claim group, one of eight in the Aurado/Cominco Mexico joint venture. The drill program is designed to test encouraging results obtained in December 1998. The drilling on the Amapola is targeted to test for a sediment hosted bulk tonnage silver, zinc, lead deposit modelled on the Real de Angeles mine. Consideration will also be given to testing two volcanic massive sulphide targets on the Venaditas claim and also one on the Garabato claim. Nine drill hole locations are being permitted by Mexican authorities. The drilling is expected to start the week of Feb. 25. The drill program on Amapola will test an area of 1,700 by 2,000 metres to the east and south of holes 98-2 and 98-3. Hole 98-2 contained eight intervals, one to six metres in length between 95 and 285 m depth containing anomalous silver, zinc and lead values associated with breccias and stockwork veins in a sedimentary host rock. Best values were 2.2 per cent lead, 1.9 per cent zinc and 122 grams per tonne silver. Hole 98-3 contained similar alteration and silicification to hole 2 but with an intersection of 30 m anomalous arsenic and antimony. Geophysically, the target area is characterized by high chargeability, and a two kilometre diameter gravity low which could represent a breccia pipe or a buried intrusive. Proposed drill holes on the Veneditas claim are targeted on chargeability anomalies over Guerrero Terrane volcanics containing rhyolites. The proposed hole on Garabato will test a coincident magnetic and gravity high in an area of shallow overburden. (c) Copyright 1999 Canjex Publishing Ltd. canada-stockwatch.com |
