Having seen nothing but negative posts (including yours) in the last little while, let me throw out a theory (which is nothing but that) but may give some food for thought:
For a moment try to put yourself into the shoes of the Detroit gaming interests...
You have spent years and considerable amounts of money to bring gambling to Detroit
You have done all your forecasts based on deriving a substantial portion of your revenues from Ohio residents
Along comes SGI / Gun Lake with a location which will offer much of the same except so much closer to the Ohio border thus cutting off one of your life lines
What would you do?
Infiltrate GLB, offer a better deal, corrupt Band Council, offer pay offs, slander SGI, buy off politicians and law makers ...
Considering the money at stake, "you" IMO would do all of the above and more. I would if I were in their shoes.
Stall them or better yet, kill the deal ... that's the name of the game.

Food for thought ... I guess
