Did you buy an Orb? Are you going to provide us with a review?

Actually, the Orb looks very good to me on paper, however there are still plenty of obstacles to overcome before Syed will be able to impact Jaz: quality, reliability, availability, etc. Perhaps even more important for Castlewood at this juncture is that they are a total unknown with virtually zero advertising as far as I can determine. At least SyQuest had a well known name to help the SparQ introduction. It will be interesting to see the product reviews.

In addition, Iomega has had plenty of time to prepare for the Orb release. I suspect they'll simply ignore the product for the time being and wait to see if it has any real chance of threatening Jaz. If a competitive concern develops, I expect Jodie will respond appropriately.

BTW, Iomega should be closing the deal with SyQuest soon. SyQuest has a serious suit pending against Castlewood. I imagine SyQuest wasn't spending a great deal on legal issues in the midst of their financial crisis. Perhaps we'll see Jodie use Iomega's weight to pursue the SyQuest case and eliminate Castlewood in the courts.

Rocky, I think it's a bit early to "turn out the lights" when it comes to Jaz.

Regards - Dale
