Good evening Jim,

You raise a very interesting point when you note it was easy for CPQ to make their their EPS by stuffing their channels with Enterprise products.

In looking at the sales data Compaq tends to suffer a quarterly decline of around 12% in the first quarter compared to the previous quarter. I wonder how much of this is inventory coming back out of the channels. The reason I ask is that you would expect GTW's sales to be much more seasonal than CPQ's, but they're not. GTW's average first quarter decline is only 9.8%.

Something to chew on.

TTFN,
CTC
