CSCO and ASND/LU will continue to operate in tandem UNLESS ....

ASND/LU reaches what the economists call the "tipping" point in a network effect. The network effect is what happens when people start buying things that communicate with each other. Examples are the FAX, the phone, the modem, the Internet etc... Once the network effect takes place, each incremental addition to the network increases the value by more than the incremental amount added. Translated, that would require each ASND/LU box to add *incrementally* more value than each CSCO box sold until the ASND/LU boxes collectively had much much much greater value than the CSCO boxes (FOR EXAMPLE: THIS COULD BE PROVIDING SUPERLATIVE VoIP service that CSCO could not provide). Then and only then would ASND/LU reach the so called "tipping" point and people would start to drop CSCO products and start buying ASND/LU products like hot cakes....

BUT until that occurs, these stocks will continue in lock step.
