If BEARX sells enough stock it has made money on it will have to be distributed as captial gains. There is probably a small dividend payment also. It is pretty hard to tell as the makeup of the portfolio is pretty unknown.

In the past BEARX has not had to worry too much about net capital gains though!

If you sell before one year you will be taxed at the short term rate (assuming you've made money). If you wait it is possible you could get a long term distribution, I think in January.
