I concur with your analysis. What I have found most dubious about the 'domestic partner' story from the beginning is the nature of the press release which announced it. If one is in serious negotiations, one negotiates, one does not issue press releases. The cover all bases, maybe-we'll-issue-more-stock, maybe-we'll-just-sell-the-company-instead aspect, smacked of desperation. An attempt to mollify investors. It also suggests that partners were not calling VVUS, VVUS was calling them. And yes, the thread psychology is remarkable. 19,000 posts for a $2 stock! Good people on here. Lots of give and take. Especially Vlad.
