Liz, I didn't mean to make you feel bad. I was just trying to provock some interesting dialogue. I can relate to the tone issue, I often times have difficulty trying to express myself as intended. Christine and Penni are very gifted writers and never seem to have this problem. I'm trying to learn from them. Alan was also really a great writer. I miss him. Alan, did you go back to lurking again?
Anyway, here's the background on where I was trying to come from. I wouldn't call myself a very religios person, although I do try to go to church on Sunday with the family. It seems to me religion on balance has done many more wonderful things than negative things, and yet in the media today, and with many sopposedly "in people" it seems to be under attack. Sometime if you think about it, carefully watch movies or televion shows and see who the physcodic killers are, also watch how priests are shown as human beings. Every priest I have ever met has been extremely intelligent, honest and caring, and yet look at the way the media shows them. The days of Father Flanagan are over, as far as Hollywood is concerned. This perception has been infultrated into society. I believe with negative consequences. I believe their is no more important role than we as parents have than teaching moral values. Religion has played an important role in this. So it struck me as very odd, that a person say's "go with god" and people seem offended by this.
I'll get down off my soap box now.
