Norwood, MA. - Check out the February 1999 issue of Information Security Magazine, published by the ICSA. The cover story, "Biometrics Survey", authored by BHSUG columnist and ICSA biometric analyst Gary Roethenbaugh, finds that 97% of respondents in a recent survey have selected or are considering biometric technology "...with fingerscanning leading the charge". While this edition has yet to make it to their web page, Gary notes that the survey found that the number of end users is projected to grow by 190% in the next year. He goes on to evaluate what's holding back the overall biometric market. Roethenbugh notes that the survey "...demonstrates that biometrics is a technology still in search of a killer app. The current front runners are physical access controls (building security) and computer security applications." An expanded version of the study is available at: icsa.net
