CA I believe the cost of the new platform is somewhere around a million dollars. Lets assume that everything goes as planned and GTE gives it's seal of approval to the new platform and tells PLPT to start a major roll out of central office deployment. Unless GTE is willing to bankroll PLPT I don't think they have the cash to take on such a major project.

In this ever increasing world of enhanced service applications competition among the big telcos today, I don't think GTE would be satisfied with anything less then a swift deployment. That is going to take some big money from some other source. A buyout may be in the cards for this reason alone. JMHO
