Paul V,

Re "Tito, Any new insights to todays AMAT results and my post?"

The stage is set for AMAT to stair-step its way from 63 to 100. What is keeping the stock from starting that long-anticipated run?

Both the DOW 30 and the SOX are at a Landing Phase (trading range) for the past month --- while AMAT during this same period did some Baby Staircase Steps from 57 5/8 to 59 15/16 to 64 7/16 to 67 11/16 and to 71 5/8 thus far... The stock is really Strong and Fit to Go!...

While INTC is not as well-liked as before (the stock should be at 165 by now if the last Bull market is a gauge) maybe because of the resurgence of AMD as a Competitor --- AMAT is enjoying a 20 plus premium. Should this added popularity of the stock continues, AMAT should be above 100 on or before the next Earnings time in May --- 3 months ahead of that in 1997!... And if the stock does reach 100 in May, we could expect it to hit 150 in Summer. (well above my highest target of 120 to 130)... But all depends upon how long the Market is to stay up. You see the Market has the habit of suddenly reversing course (downwards) even as AMAT is reporting Record Earnings thus stopping short the advance of the stock's price.

The reader of this Post may find my figures too high to stomach. Actually I'm known to overshoot as much as 20%... The ideal way of Investing is to keep most if not all of the paper profits we make. Example if say we bought a 100 Call LEAP @ 40K (when the stock was at the low 20s) then see the investment grow to 800K (the stock above 100) --- why not pocket the 700K and play just 100K from there on...
