Gus,
I don't think that the parks site shows the actual signal wave form as it would be recieved through the head. Instead it is the profile of the magnetic charges as they exist on the disk after a write. Although it would correspond roughly with the signal. The photos of other ordinary media seems to show what would be a square wave in profile. But, the keepered media seems to have sharp peaks and valleys. What would that mean as far as picking up a signal. It is seems to be more densly packed together than the other photos's but that may be the magnification.
