but regardless of whether IBM buys NOVL as McNealy says, "It's mankind vs. Microsoft and mankind is winning."

Add SUNW, ORCL, IFMX, JAVA, Jini ... to the equation and a short term discontinuity function of the DOJ ...

but MSFT's biggest problem is a very weak product lineup. Think about it. The Windows OS is poor (it isn't stable or scalable). Microsoft Money can't compete with Quicken. They can't touch Adobe products. Netscape is cross platform. Word is bigger than Bill's tantrums.

But owning 90% of the desktop is a helluvan asset. And Excel is an excellent product. They find ways to make money. I think Bill is the perfect used car salesman. "All we do is sell innovative and great, previously owned transportation devices." Look for www.microsoftusediron.com ...
