This article talks about strong demand for consumer PCs in Japan. nikkeibp.asiabiztech.com It specically mentions the NEC ValueStar NX R series (AMD-based PCs introduced January 31). After a bit of digging in NEC's Japanese website, I found that is using the ESS Solo-1 PCI audio chip (along with a SiS 530 core logic chipset with integrated graphics).
