"The initial concept was going to be a Zip-compatible product; it was going to have a linear actuator like the Zip drives. But by moving to a rotary actuator, we could address the space and power issues raised. The actuator on the Clik drive today is very similar to what you'd see on a hard drive. This was a very painful decision for us, but it was the right thing to do."

Lipo,

If this means that they've given up on the zip caddy to make clik! zip-compatible, then I think that this was a very bad decision and will come back to haunt them. Now it will require some type of cable or wireless technique to get the data to a pc from a clik! built-in device. Unless of course they expect people to buy separate clik! drives for their pc's. Which to me negates the cost advantage of the media. Hopefully, for IOM's sake, I'm missing something here.
