Yes, partly agree. But AT&T just went a step quicker to have signed an alliance with TWX and talked to RR to merge with @Home. It looks like T spoiled AOL's plan. AOL may partner with SBC or US West, but how do they partner with TWX and RR? There could be a conflict of interest clause in the agreement between TWX and AT&T to forbid them to make any deal with AOL. Armstrong must have analyzed the possibility of an alliance between AOL and TWX. And he must have done something to prevent it from happening. Possible?

They are all my speculation.
