You are right about that. In December I was in KANA at .17. By the end of January it was to $3.50 to $4. It happens by insiders and people close to the company taking out the float, HOLDING, and then making the shorts squirm!! You are right, all on no news. It frequently has nothing to do with news, simply supply and demand of stock!
