michael d. burke..."outrageous prices...pay back, etc"...dell, ko, intc, msft,...all the starving gorilla
i'm a simple man, not as educated as you, but when i look at a five year chart for ko...april 94 @ $20 split adjusted...$65 today...it pays a long term investor very well..i guess it doesn't meet the precious metal returns that most bears obtain...go back five years on any well managed growth company...buy and hold isn't as silly as you state...
would rather be "religious", have belief in investment, business, life strategy, that has proven successful year in and year out..i think it's referred to as courage of conviction, with the assets, be they tangible or spiritual to back same up...
life and success is more than being a contrarian to that which you can't intellectually challenge...some feel secure in maintaining an adverse relationship to reality...life is too short to have a constant need to prove your concepts...the world is round...to argue with success and state that those as buffett are the luckiest"...diminishes from the achievement of those that you will never approach...step up to the plate, take a swing, see how far you can drive the ball...instead of stating that mcgwire has a hitch in his swing, and imagine what he could do if...he had the infinite knowledge of a math model...designed by one who never had randy johnson throwing at him...sort of convoluted logic...good luck, sir... |
