Paul, re: paying for wafers with 3-4 chips. It has to be nice when you can take common beach sand, aluminum foil and rat poison and produce a product that sells for almost $1M a pound. Even the drug companies must be jealous

As a hardware person, I am inclined to believe that the value in a microprocessor does not lie primarily in the cost of the raw materials. I remember being told in grade school that the total value of the chemicals in a human being was about $1.60.
