I guess I mostly am using services that the pages and downloads aren't that demanding--such as right here at SI. Also, my local server apparently is still operating at 28.8. I am switching to Sprint, which may be faster. I do have the 56.6 modem card in my notebook.

Of course I am speaking as someone who used to get up in the middle of the night to continue downloading things at 300 baud. A factor of 50 or 100 seems pretty great.

I think I am about to unload my AMZN LEAPS, having realized that at the price they are at the stock would have to drop to 45 just to maintain value--and would have to drop to below 40 to realize an annualized increase of 10% from this point on. That's not enough additional value to justify the speculation, in my view.

Now of course I will not be the least surprised to see AMZN back below 20, but I just don't feel like laying a substantial wad of cash on that. So I will take my 50% gain and look at something else. Like maybe my savings account.
