Colby,

Everyone who owns this stock at much higher levels (myself included) has every right to be pissed. The stock price IMO defies all logic. I guess the best way to explain the Vivus situation is if the management is bad enough (ie Lee Wilson) and there is enough money sunk into the short side then any small cap stock can be dropped down to its knees.

There is no doubt in my mind that without a domestic partner Vivus can survive on its own but only in obscurity. The expansion of international markets will help earnings starting no sooner than Q2 1999.

The real ability for Vivus to thrive lies in the domestic partner issue. I was told by NF long ago that Vivus would not "give away" their product for the sake of a short term fix and that they really didn't care where the stock price moved in the short term even if it goes "to a dollar". I don't remember when I had this conversation but I believe it was some time last October.

I wont sell my shares at these ridiculous levels. I still believe that MUSE has a lot of potential on a global basis to produce decent earnings for this small biotech company.

I have had no intention of selling my position in Vivus and do not have any intention of selling my position at these ridiculous levels. MUSE can sell well again here in the United States. Viagra failures and those with CVD will be its main target population. MUSE will never be a popular party drug like Viagra but if marketed properly it can achieve a reputation in the medical community as the non needle safe and local alternative to Viagra. I am content with such a reputation for this product but again with no marketing partner and no attempt by Vivus to do any marketing of its own we will continue to have lagging product sales.
