Sherry--I have never been to Japan.
I can't seem to gain enough weight to make the trip worthwhile. However I do get the finest translations. Regrettably you have some works that were discredited later on as being done by longs who were big losers in the market to the great short.
You should check the works of his courtesans. The pillow book 'Long and the Short of It' is a very extensive work and does describe him in detail. However if you check the work "The Geography of Chu Mei Ash" you can have no doubt both his impact on the fair sex and his trim physique. This work is widely hailed in Japan for its unique qualities of description, graphic detail, and the focus of the work.
The focus is particularly admired as it goes into such exhaustive detail and dwells on it for so long that a stone would weep to read it. A high achievement in Japanese literature.
