The average user will see no difference. Without software measuring the differences, few people would have any idea what is inside the box. These days, most folks notice by 'how fast' their applications open. AMD uses a different graphics scheme called 3DNOW, Intel uses MMX and now has an additional 70 instructions in their PIII chip. Both manufacturers offer low end chips that are more than adequate for anything the average user will do. Game players will tend to go for top power, and possibly graphics folks. For internet access, I don't think 350mhz or 450mhz matters all that much. I've posted on the Intel thread in the past asking for articles/data on qualitative differences between AMD and Intel chips, never got a response. Lots of hype and name calling between the Intel and AMD threaders. Fact is, AMD has done consumers a service by forcing down chip prices. I doubt you would be seeing a Celeron line without them. John PS - If AMD processors were riddled with quality problems you would not see CPQ, HWP, and IBM using them. Gateway has also stated they will be selling AMD equipped boxes, initially overseas...
