Greetings Jim, and all wo love the Lord Jesus Christ. May I offer what I believe the scriptures teach regarding, who were the first believers, that is born-again Christians who are called the Body of Christ, His Church. After His resurrection, the Lord Jesus appeared to the disciples and gave unto them the Holy Spirit, according to John 20, verses 19-31. It is these disciples who were " born " of the Spirit at this time who were the first believers in Christ, that is, His Body, the Church. He then gives the disciples further instructions ( although they were " born of the Spirit) to wait in Jerusalem to wait for the promise of the Father ( Power of the Spirit) , Luke 24, verse 49. These disciples made the transition from the Old Testament to the New Testament according to the promise given to Abraham in Gen.12:3, and brought to fullfillment by the Lord Jesus Christ. There is only One Eternal Gospel of Grace from the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ till the end of time as witnessed first by these disciples of Christ. The same Gospel apprehended Paul on the road to Damascus. I say this in love Jim, but I believe you violate the integrity of the Holy Word by what you are saying and teaching. Grace and peace be yours Jim in abundance according to the desires of your heart. Robert |
