Self-fulfilling prophecies

To All:

How often have I been critical of analysts and suggested that because of their clout their predictions are no better than Self-Fulfilling Prophecies.

Below is an article by Steve Frank from the Wall Street Journal about a 15 year-old guru who manages to sway stocks of smaller companies. Thought the article was interesting, Imagine what a big GURU with billions of dollars at his control can do.

An online chat
guru — unmasked

Teen stock picker Daniel Miller, aka
‘Whiz Kid,' has a loyal cyber audience

THE WALL STREET JOURNAL

Feb. 17 — Would you take investment advice from a chat room
guru known as the “Whiz Kid?” Thousands of online investors
do. A dedicated following looks to Daniel Miller, a high school
freshman in suburban New Jersey, for his stock picks — and has
made the 15-year-old's discussion group a popular haunt. The
group of cyber investors has proven that in the
momentum-driven world of day trading, almost anyone's hot
stock tip can become a self-fulfilling prophecy if enough buyers
are willing to act on it.
