Hello Elizabeth. Intel, IBM, Msft and splits. Sorry for being so late. I had lots of trouble with my cpt. It seems to happen every time I need the cpt the most.

About those splits. You got plenty of advice on it in the meantime. Like most everybody said: You don't get a stock cheaper when it splits. Most of the time it will be higher in anticipation for the split. It has not worked completely this way lately. But it has been proven that a stock that splits more often, will generally be higher in the end than stocks that do not split. We won't count Warren Buffet's company. gg. But who knows: Maybe even it would be higher had he done splits. I keep saying that it is generally better to buy a stock before it splits even if you can buy only 50 shares instead of 100 and you will have 100 or more shares after the split. gg. The absolute best way to get a stock cheaper before it splits is to look at a good company and their split record and buy a stock before a split is announced. I would say that WCOM, EMC are getting there and so was PBI before it went down again the last cpl of days. I can't remember if Sunw has announced a split. If not, it should be getting there also. Just take a look at all the cos. you like and check their history. Pick the one that may be splitting. It does not always work but as long as you are interested in sev. cos., you may as well pick the one that is likely to split.

Intel is doing great today. I heard a little while ago that IBM is going to sell network cpts that run on LINUX, an Intel powered chip which is a free version of UNIX. Analysts are calling it a blow to Msft.

Most of the techs are still laboring. The bull and bears are still fighting it out. I am hoping on a win for the bulls. Should the bulls lose out, lowest point in the DOW, I heard, is 8800 but more likely, 9100.

AOL is splitting on Monday and so far that split is not working for AOL.
