Maturational is, per Random House. Used in Biology and Psychology all the time. Sorry, latin ain't the only background necessary.

PS -- Please note that I tried everything to get my son to take Latin. Change schools, register for summer school, etc. It is a seriously overlooked significant background in our increasingly technology-oriented society.
