Colby,

I guess it just boils down to whether one thinks that things will turn around for Vivus. 2 questions that one needs to answer are:

1)How well can Vivus do in terms of product sales if a domestic partner is not signed soon? We already know that international sales will not pick up until the European launch gets under way. An even more important question I feel is "What is Vivus doing on its own to market MUSE to both PCPs and its target group(ie over 55 group)?"
I feel that there are cost efficient forms of marketing that Vivus can employ via internet and print. I also feel that with the questionable Viagra safety profile, Vivus would be wise to do another direct mailing to the PCPs. I would not suggest they spend money on anything more than a colorful mailing that in large lettering mentions a SAFE AND LOCAL ALTERNATVE TO VIAGRA. The mailer can include Vivus's toll free phone number so that interested PCPs can call to order a free sample kit (500 mg for first dose in clinic titration) to get their patients started at no cost to the PCP for
the actual first dosing. Perhaps Vivus is NOT spending any more $$$ on cost efficient marketing because they already know that a partnership deal is imminent???

2)What is really going on between Leland Wilson and potential domestic partners? Why was he so closed mouthed about answering ANY questions regarding partnering negotiations? I believe it is either because as Captain says he has nothing and prior comments were mere "smoke blowing" or else Vivus is very close to finalizing a deal in which case I believe Wilson did the right thing to say absolutely nothing since doing so can easily destroy the finalization of a marketing deal. Like someone said "I wish I could be a fly in Leland's office." Personally it would be a pleasurable experience since I could know what the hell is really going on and I could also lay my eggs on his scalp(good food for my larval offspring).
