Please don't say mea culpa if you don't mean it. It's part of the Catholic mass, although it has gone into the vernacular. It's part of the Sacrament of Confession, you have to confess your wrongdoing and ask for forgiveness. "Through my fault," that's what it means.

Why not say,

"If that makes me a bigot, kiss my @ss."

or

"If that makes me a bigot, tough $hit."

It would be more honest.
